Frequently asked questions

How LevelFour bills, what it covers across AWS, GCP, Azure, and Kubernetes, how the success-fee model works, and what setup looks like. Still have a question? Talk to the team.

Getting started

How long does it take to get started?

Connecting an account takes about 5 minutes, with no code changes and no agent installation, and you are set up in under a day. LevelFour then processes 2 to 4 weeks of your usage data to build an accurate savings analysis before kickoff.

What does the onboarding process look like?

Four steps: (1) Setup and Connect, about a 5-minute process per account; (2) Data Processing, 2 to 4 weeks after the initial setup; (3) Contract, signing and acceptance of the terms of service; (4) Onboarding and Kick-off, with full access to the platform.

Do you offer a proof of concept?

Yes. The proof of concept analyzes one environment over two weeks, including a savings-potential estimate and three enabled savings executions. Any modules you have not contracted are made available as a free trial for the period set in the contract, at no additional cost.

How long is the free trial?

Every module includes a 14-day free trial with full access. No credit card required. You can cancel at any time during the trial with zero commitment.

Does LevelFour support multi-cloud environments?

Yes. LevelFour supports AWS, GCP, Azure, and Kubernetes natively. You can connect all four and manage costs from a single dashboard.

Security and data access

How does LevelFour access my cloud account?

With your authorization, LevelFour's access is read-only, apart from a minimal write scope (about 1% of permissions) used solely for support requests and billing information. We never store your credentials, and our process follows the Well-Architected Frameworks from AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure.

Does LevelFour see my code or private data?

No. LevelFour does not access your code, your network traffic, or any private data. It only collects usage metrics and service data.

Will the optimizations affect my application's performance?

No. The optimizations and savings LevelFour implements do not affect the performance of your product or service.

How transparent and auditable are the changes?

Every optimization is auditable from start to finish, and you only pay for the savings that are actually implemented.

How is my data secured?

LevelFour uses read-only API access to your cloud accounts. We never store credentials, and all data is encrypted in transit and at rest. SOC 2 Type II compliant.

Billing and plans

How does billing work?

Cloud Savings uses a success-fee model (35% Start, 30% Scale), so you only pay when we deliver measurable savings. Cost Governance is $599/month for up to 10 accounts, or $1,499/month for unlimited accounts and users. Kubernetes is $2.00 per Pod (up to 100 Pods) or $1.40 per Pod on volume pricing (minimum 100 Pods).

What if LevelFour doesn't find any savings?

If we don't find savings, you don't pay. The success fee only applies to verified, auditable savings. There is zero financial risk.

Can I cancel at any time?

Cost Governance and Kubernetes are month-to-month and can be cancelled anytime from your dashboard. Cloud Savings runs on a 12-month success-fee agreement, so you only ever pay a share of the savings we deliver.

Can I pay through my cloud provider?

Yes. LevelFour is available on AWS Marketplace, GCP Marketplace, and Azure Marketplace. Billing goes through your existing cloud account. No separate procurement needed.
